What is Pixagogo Photo Maps?

Pixagogo Photo Maps is a free service by Pixagogo based on Google Maps^tm .  Above all it’s a fun way to share your photos or display your photos on your blog or website.  It’s really simple: Upload your photos, add labels & geocodes and build your own Photo Map.

Pixagogo Photo Maps is a "beta release". Please check out the Pixagogo support forum for known issues. We also welcome your suggestions and remarks.  We will release updates and improvements regularly.

Should Pixagogo Photo Maps work with my browser?

Pixagogo Maps currently supports the following web browsers both on Windows and Mac: IE 5.5+, Firefox 0.8+, Safari 1.2.4+, Netscape 7.1+, Mozilla 1.4+, Opera 7+.

How can I find Geocodes of non-US addresses?

Today you can only look up US addresses thanks to our integration with the Geocoder.us database.  If you want to add other geocodes to your photos you can use the “Find on Map” feature or look-up your address on Multimap.com or on your own GPS device.  On the Multimap website you can enter your address and get the latituted and longitude coordinates in the following countries: Albania, Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Byelarus, Croatia, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Norway, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey & Ukraine.

What is Geocoding?

Geocoding (source: wikipedia.org) is the process of assigning geographic coordinates (e.g. latitude-longitude) to street addresses, as well as other points and features. With geographic coordinates, the features can then be mapped and entered into Geographic Information Systems.

Pixagogo Photo Maps uses decimal geographic coordinates (not degrees).  For example: Lat= 37:47:08N; Lon=122.24.22W has to be entered as Lat=37.7857; Lon=-122.4016.
